IRL Player’s Guide
Min-Maxing Your Body Weight
The whole method as a book you can keep. Two numbers a day. Nothing to count. Forty-seven pages: the physics of weight, the case against counting, what the eating-window trials actually found, the Two Twos, the fourteen days, who this isn’t for, and every study in an appendix. Free with an account.
Screen edition
Dark, like the app. Reads well on a phone.
Paper edition
Same book on white, for printing. The tracker at the back tears out.
What’s in it
- Foreword. I lost 40 lbs in a year. Here’s the part that matters.
- Chapters 1 to 3, the physics. What a calorie actually measures. Why your weight moves 5 lbs in a day. Does fasting speed up your metabolism? No, and that’s fine.
- Chapters 4 to 7, the method. The Two Twos, the Two Numbers, finding your delta in 14 days, and the one lever you touch after that.
- Chapter 8. What a pound of fat looks like, and why the app shows you objects instead of a line.
- Chapter 9. Who this isn’t for. The screening questions, the hard rules, and why they’re safety, not style.
- Chapter 10. What you won’t read in this book.
- Appendix. Every citation with its DOI, tagged verified or pending. Plus the 14-day tracker as a tear-out.
Why it’s behind an account
Not to collect your email. The account is where the screening questions live: under 18 is a hard stop, and a few other answers ask you to talk to a doctor first. Handing the book out from a form on this page would skip that, and chapter 9 exists for a reason. The account is free to the first 100 people and then $1 a month. There’s no mailing list attached to it.
If you’d rather not sign up, the parts that matter most are already free: the method, every study, and the tracker sheet. The book is those, in order, with a foreword.
Already signed in? It’s under Downloads in the app, as the IRL Player’s Guide. A paperback edition is planned; this is the first edition, September 2026.
